The Parks of New Braunfels, Texas

New Urbanist Community Seaside Celebrates 30th Birthday
When Robert Davis inherited 80 acres of costal land in the pandhandle of Florida from his grandfather in 1978, he had a vision. Davis set out to create an old-fashioned beach town with modern innovations: “A town seamlessly tied by a common sense of community… Simple. Beautiful. Graceful. Elegant.” He succeeded, his ambitions resulting in Seaside, one of the first New Urbanist communities in America. Now, this community is celebrating its 30th birthday.

Local School System Earns Gold Medal
Over the past several decades, New Braunfels’ schools have earned several awards, recognized on both state and federal levels for excellence. Recently, our local educational system has been presented with another merit: a gold medal from the Texas Comptroller’s Leadership Conference.

New Braunfels Celebrates Recognition of Founders’ Oak
Founders’ Oak was recently designated as a Famous Tree of Texas by the Texas Forest Service. In recognition of this award, a community celebration will be held at Founders’ Oak on August 4th, 2012 at 9:00 am.

Who are the developers of Town Creek?
Locals Trace and Shawn Jurica founded Town Creek in June 2006 with the idea of adding to Downtown in a way that respects the history and character of their hometown.
